More than knowledge:

Range of Vocabulary
- The vocabulary is very basic: "went to", "many people", "good", "enjoyable".
- There are no topic-specific words related to concerts or live music.
- The examiner hears simple, everyday language instead of descriptive or expressive vocabulary like "live performance", "audience", "venue".
Precision and Appropriacy
- Words "good" and "nice" are too general; they don't show clear feelings or details.
- Phrases such as "very loud" are understandable but lack precision.
- The description doesn’t express emotion or atmosphere, which limits the score.
Collocations and Phrasal Verbs
- There are no phrasal verbs or natural collocations in the answer.
- Phrases such as "went to a concert" and "performed several songs" are too plain and simple.
Stronger, more idiomatic combinations such as "kicked off the show" or "sang along" would make the speech sound more fluent and natural.
Repetition
- Simple words "concert", "music", and "good" are repeated many times.
- There are no synonyms or paraphrases (e.g. "performance", "show").
This makes the speech sound flat and less flexible, reducing the overall impression of fluency.
With this system, students often improve their Vocabulary score by up to 2 IELTS bands — which can be the difference between Band 5.0 and Band 7.0.

Range of Vocabulary
- The answer shows a wide variety of topic-specific words related to concerts and live music: "live performance", "venue", "summer mood", "atmosphere".
- These expressions go beyond basic words like "good", "nice", or "fun".
- The speaker demonstrates the ability to describe experiences and emotions naturally and effectively when talking about music events.
Precision and Appropriacy
- Expressions like "break out of my routine" and "gave myself up to the music" add precision and emotion to the answer.
- Phrases like "kicked off the show", "went with the summer mood" sound accurate, much better than "started the concert", "matched the mood".
- Using "take in the atmosphere" shows an ability to express feelings clearly, instead of saying "I enjoyed it".
- Overall, the speaker chooses words that are accurate, expressive, and fit the context perfectly.
Collocations and Phrasal Verbs
- Strong phrasal verbs are used naturally: "break out of my routine", "went with summer mood", "gave myself up to the music", "take in the atmosphere", "get by during a stressful week", "looking forward to their next concert".
- Advanced collocations "kicked off the show", "take in the atmosphere" make the response sound fluent and natural.
There is no forced or awkward use of vocabulary.
Repetition
- Instead of repeating "concert" or "music", the answer introduces a variety of related terms such as "live performance", "show", "band", "fans", and "atmosphere".
- The speaker shows flexibility in vocabulary use, avoids repetition and keeps the listener engaged.
